Okay, you thought that this was gonna be a snippet about how beautiful the park is, or where to visit, or whatever. Sorry.

If you would like to know which is the cleanest, nicest smelling bathroom in the park though - I can help with that!

This blog entry was written at the behest of my loveable but drunken boyfriend Don.

 It was a sunny afternoon sometime last week and we were taking a ride around town for something to do. Actually, I was playing chaperone while he was drinking, but that’s beside the point.

Anyway, as coffee brandy is bound to do to you, Don felt the need to urinate frequently, which usually entails finding a deserted road or turn-around or whatever so he can do his business against the nearest tree. On this particular day we happened to be on the Eagle Lake Road headed toward Bar Harbor when the inevitable happened.

“Can you find a place to pull over?” he asks me.

Now it just so happens that Eagle Lake is owned by Acadia National Park, and I knew that just down over the next hill was the parking lot, and that there was a bathroom stationed there. We pulled in and Don hurried towards the door.

My genious, my Einstein, my expert on public urinals, spent the next half hour of our ride extolling to me the virtues of this particular restroom.

“It smelled so sweet! And it was CLEAN. Really CLEAN! You gotta write about this in your blog for future tourists! I have peed drunk in every bathroom in this park at one time or another, and that restroom deserves an award! You got to let them know how GOOD it smelled!”  (Picture this dialogue coming from the passenger seat, with a drunken 40-something bouncing excitedly in the seat like a 4 year old while spewing this out.  Sigh……that’s my life)

And that’s this entry. I guess if anyone would like a rating of the other urinals in the park just post a comment and I’ll have Don go on another inspection.
